Robert B. Diehl, 83, of St. Clair, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Bob was born on September 21, 1942, in Pottsville. He was the son of the late Norman Diehl and Margaret (Sidler) Diehl.
Bob was of the Protestant faith. He was employed at the former Miller's Textile Plant in Schuylkill Haven as a machine operator.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Violet (Maymon) Diehl, who passed away in 1992. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald "Butch" Diehl, Kenneth Diehl, and Thomas E. Diehl.
Bob is survived by his son, Richard Diehl of Schuylkill Haven; his son, Michael Diehl of Shenandoah; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair, at 11:00am with Jennie Strauch officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30am to 11:00am Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Mae Sippie, who passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2026 at the age of 85.
Born on October 22nd, 1941, she had this strength and resilience that was admired by her children. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, strength, generosity, sense of humor, compassion and loyalty. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her and will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family.
She was the devoted wife of John G. Sippie, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and cherished memories.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11th at 11 a.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington Street, Frackville. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life at her visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at St. Casimir's Catholic Cemetery, Mahanoy City.

Joan McElvaney, 90, of Frackville, died Friday July 3, 2026 at her residence.
Born in Girardville, September 15, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Algierd and Catherine (Burian) Zinkavage.
She was a graduate of the former Butler Twp. High School
and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville, PA.
She was preceded in death by 2 husbands; Chester Lizewski in 1987, Richard McElvaney in 2009 and a brother Albert Zinkavage.
Surviving are 3 sons; Edward Lizewski and his wife Colleen, James Lizewski, and his wife Rhonda, Fredericksburg, VA and Michael Lizewski and his wife Shannon from Irmo, SC, 2 daughters, Maryann Artale wife of Paul, Lititz, PA and Judith wife of John Raffa, Pottsville, and sister Kathleen Najda from Shenandoah; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were private and at the convenience of the family.

Betty Lou Tomko, 82, of Pottsville passed away Tuesday July 7, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospital- Miners Campus in Coaldale.

Charles Edward “Boo Boo” Nelson, age 73, of Pottsville, PA passed away Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at Edenbrook at Greenwood Hill in Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville, PA on May 25, 1953, he was the son of the late Willie and Barbara (Wheeler) Nelson.
Charles was a graduate of Pottsville High School. He worked in customer service at Boscov's and at H and L Green.
He was a member of Bethel AME Church in Pottsville and always dedicated his life to his family and church. Charles had a passion for Karate and was also an instructor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Mae Riviera, Henrietta Howard, and Margaret Torres, and brothers: William and David Nelson.
Charles is survived by two daughters: Mary Bowers and Jessica Boud; two sons: Charles Strauch and his wife Kyrston and Joshua Nelson; grandchildren: Cameron, Hakeem, Preston, and Lola; brothers: James and Robert Nelson; sisters: Barbara Nelson and Ethel Santiago; and nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon at 11am on Friday, July 10th, with Rev. Earl Singleton officiating.

Louise "Weezie" Machita, of Phoenix Park, Cass Township, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 57.
Born in Pottsville, November 5, 1968, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Machita Sr. and Nancy (Nolan) Machita.
She was a 1987 graduate of Minersville Area High School. She worked as a Warehouse Associate for Lowe’s Distribution, Highridge.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville and South Cass Hose Co.
Louise was a woman with a larger-than-life personality, an infectious laugh, and a heart that welcomed everyone. Affectionately known as "Weezie," she had a gift for making people smile, and to know Louise was to love her.She was a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports and proudly supported Penn State, always cheering on her favorite teams. Music brought her great joy, especially singing along to her favorite songs from the '80s and '90s, as well as her beloved polka music.Louise cherished every opportunity to gather with family and friends. She was the photographer at nearly every event she attended, making sure every smile, celebration, and special moment was captured. Because of her, countless memories will live on through the photographs she lovingly took. Her kindness, sense of humor, and unforgettable spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
