The swimming area at Locust Lake State Park has been closed until further notice after routine water testing indicated poor water quality.
According to an alert issued Tuesday, July 14, the closure affects only the designated swimming area. The remainder of the park remains open to visitors, and campground reservations are not impacted.
Park officials said all other recreational activities permitted at Locust Lake State Park, including boating, fishing, hiking, and picnicking, remain available during the closure.
Officials are in the process of collecting additional water samples to monitor conditions. The swimming area will reopen once testing confirms the water quality has returned to acceptable levels.
No timeline has been provided for when the beach may reopen.
Visitors planning a trip to Locust Lake State Park are encouraged to check for updates before arriving, as the swimming closure will remain in effect until further notice.
