Celebrating 99 years of musical excellence, the Shenandoah Valley High School “Blue Devil” Marching Band is bringing the ultimate party to the field with the music of Bruno Mars.

John P. Shoener is marking his 10th year as director of the Shenandoah Valley marching band.
The band staff also includes Assistant Directors Christopher Circelli and Britney Bidding, Percussion Instructor Robert Nowak, Flag Instructor Gina Miscannon, Band Assistants Megan Cantwell and Toby Gudinas, and Interpreter Sam McCandless.
2026–2027 Field Show Features the Music of Bruno Mars
The Blue Devils’ 2026–2027 production, “The Music of Bruno Mars,” begins with the glitz, glamour and high-energy funk of the 2016 hit “24K Magic.”
The band then blends driving rock rhythms with energetic pop by pairing the 2012 hit “Locked Out of Heaven” with the global chart-topper “APT.”
The show closes with the soulful and electrifying sound of “I Just Might.”
The band’s goal for the season is to keep the program fun and its students excited to perform for audiences.
Upcoming Performances and Events
The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devil Marching Band’s schedule includes performances at football games, the Gratz Fair and the Bloomsburg Fair.
Looking ahead to 2027, Shenandoah Valley will host the Schuylkill County Band Festival from February 25 through February 27. Band members will also travel to Cleveland from June 4 through June 6.
