Ashland Man Jailed on Assault, Child Endangerment and Threat Charges

Pennsylvania State Police investigation involving alleged child assault and threats in Ashland, Schuylkill County

ASHLAND — An Ashland man is jailed on $75,000 monetary bail after Pennsylvania State Police alleged he struck a 3-year-old child and threatened a woman and children during a domestic incident.

Nathan Mark Graham, 28, of Ashland, faces 17 charges stemming from the incident on , according to court records.

State Police Detail Alleged Ashland Incident

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper from the Frackville barracks was dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Centre Street at approximately 5:38 p.m.

A woman reported that her boyfriend, Graham, had threatened her and her children, according to the affidavit.

Police said the woman reported that she and Graham had been arguing verbally throughout the day. The argument allegedly escalated after Graham returned home from work and learned she had used his computer.

The woman told police she left to pick up two of her children from a bus stop while a third child remained at the residence. While picking up the children, she allegedly received threatening text messages from Graham, including a message threatening to beat her when she returned home.

In the criminal complaint’s charge descriptions, police allege Graham struck a 3-year-old girl on the buttocks, leaving red marks. The complaint also alleges he left the child home alone and struck her after returning home.

Police further allege Graham threatened to slit the victims’ throats, ram his vehicle into their car to kill them and make one child unrecognizable when the woman returned home.

Seventeen Charges Filed

The court docket lists the following charges:

  • One count of aggravated assault involving a victim younger than 6 and a defendant age 18 or older
  • One count of endangering the welfare of children
  • Four counts of terroristic threats
  • Four counts of simple assault
  • Three counts of harassment involving threatening communications
  • Four summary counts of harassment involving physical contact or threats of physical contact

The aggravated assault charge is graded as a second-degree felony. The child endangerment charge is a third-degree felony, according to court records.

Bail and Preliminary Hearing

Bail was set at $75,000 monetary on . The docket lists Graham as being held at Schuylkill County Prison after he was unable to post bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for , before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli.
