Carl L. Gerber, 86, of Cressona
Carl L. Gerber, 86, of Pottsville St., Cressona, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026 at home.
Born on October 26, 1939 in Wayne Twp, he was a son of the late George and Annie Brown Gerber.
Known simply as "Gerb" to most, but proudly holding the titles of "Dad" and "Grandpa" to those he held closest, Carl was a tough, hardworking man you could always count on to get the job done or lend a helping hand. He could reliably be found out in the fire garage with country music playing in the background, tinkering with his latest project or fixing whatever needed attention.
Carl lived life with heart and humor. He always brought smiles and laughter, cracking ridiculous jokes at just the right time. An avid lover of the outdoors, he deeply cherished his time at the cabin-whether hunting and snowmobiling with the guys or sharing his little slice of heaven with his family. He also loved the excitement of flea markets and antique shops, forever on the hunt for hidden treasurers.
Of all the blessings in Carl's life, none compared to his 62 wonderful years alongside the love of his life, JoAnn. Together they built a lifetime of beautiful memories and a family he adored. His favorite moments were those spent surrounded by the people he loved, especially the time shared with his three grandchildren, who brought him boundless pride and joy.
Carl was a Leather Trimmer for Chestnut Operating Company in Reading.
Preceding him in death were four brothers, Louis, Robert, Richard, and Clarence Gerber; and two sisters, Erma Beuchler and Mary Gerber.
Surviving, in addition to his wife JoAnn Kintzel Gerber, are two daughters, Paula and husband Dean Loux of Lititz, Sara-Jane and husband Edward Tite of New Ringgold; a son, David Gerber of Minersville; three grandchildren, Sarah and husband Benjamin Schoener of Lititz, Andrew and wife Meghan Tite of New Ringgold, Gabriella Gerber and fiance' Derek Rasmussen; three great grandchildren, Benjamin Schoener, Hunter Tite, and Hayleigh Tite; a brother, Joseph Gerber of Schnecksville; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Michael Smith officiating. There will be a visitation on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Pine Grove.
