SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Three borough men face charges following an October 14 fight near the train station that police say involved thrown rocks, exchanged punches and an altercation that spilled into West Main Street and disrupted traffic.

Schuylkill Haven Police charged Sincere Jaleke Williams, 18; Jacob Aaron Orrell, 20; and Shawn Robert Prentice, 20, each with third-degree misdemeanor simple assault involving a fight entered into by mutual consent, along with summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct.

Police Respond to Reported Fight

According to an affidavit filed by Officer Tyler David Fleming, officers were dispatched around 8:37 p.m. on October 14, 2026, to the area of East Main and Railroad streets for a reported fight.

Fleming subsequently encountered Prentice and Williams near a parking lot and observed blood around Prentice’s mouth and swelling near his left eye.

Williams and Prentice told police the confrontation began while they were walking on Dock Street with two juvenile girls. They alleged Orrell rode past on a bicycle and made a comment about one of the girls’ buttocks.

Williams said he told Orrell the girls were underage, prompting an exchange during which Orrell allegedly directed a racial slur at him.

The parties initially separated, according to their accounts, but encountered one another again near the railroad crossing on West Main Street.

Men Provide Differing Accounts

Williams and Prentice told police Orrell threw rocks toward them, with Williams reporting that one struck him. Prentice initially described his role in the subsequent fight as attempting to separate Williams and Orrell.

A witness told police he heard rocks being thrown and racial slurs before seeing Williams and Orrell fighting while Prentice attempted to separate them.

Officers later spoke with Orrell at his apartment, where Fleming reported observing blood, scratches, swelling above an eyebrow and abrasions.

Orrell admitted throwing rocks and using a racial slur, according to the affidavit. He told police Williams had threatened to stab him and repeatedly displayed what he described as a knife.

Orrell said he threw a punch in self-defense when Williams and Prentice approached within a foot or two of him.

Williams, meanwhile, told police Orrell had threatened to bring others with knives to attack them and then falsely tell police Williams had a knife.

Train Station Surveillance Footage Reviewed

Police subsequently obtained surveillance footage from the train station that Fleming said recorded the entire fight.

According to Fleming’s description of the video, Orrell initially approached Williams and Prentice near the tracks before backing toward West Main Street as the two walked toward him.

Police said the footage showed Prentice throwing liquid from a bottle onto Orrell, followed by Orrell throwing a punch that missed. The men briefly separated before Orrell and Prentice exchanged rock throws, according to the affidavit.

After a rock was thrown toward Williams, police said Williams ran toward Orrell and continued advancing with his fists raised while Orrell backed across both lanes of West Main Street.

The affidavit states Orrell then punched Prentice, knocking him onto the roadway, and punched Williams. Police said the confrontation continued with Williams and Prentice both throwing punches at Orrell before the fight moved into a gravel area near the railroad pavilion.

While Orrell was on his back, Williams allegedly attempted to stomp on his head, partially connecting. Police also described Prentice attempting to pull Williams away during portions of the altercation.

Fleming concluded that all three men had multiple opportunities to disengage, call police or avoid further confrontation, but instead participated in a fight that disrupted traffic.
