Blue Mountain’s 34–14 victory over Shamokin remains one of the strongest results recorded by a Schuylkill County team this season and keeps the Eagles ahead of Williams Valley.

2. Williams Valley (9–1)

Last week: No. 2
Week 10: Defeated Tri-Valley, 28–21

The Vikings have won eight consecutive games since their Week 2 loss to Southern Columbia. Their résumé includes victories over Schuylkill Haven, Shenandoah Valley, Marian Catholic and Tri-Valley.

Williams Valley finishes close behind Blue Mountain, but the Eagles’ wins over Pottsville and previously unbeaten Shamokin give them the stronger overall case for No. 1.

Next opponent: Lackawanna Trail at Williams Valley on Friday, November 6, at 7 p.m. in the District XI Class 1A playoffs.

3. Schuylkill Haven (6–4)

Last week: No. 3
Week 10: Defeated Marian Catholic, 24–7

After beginning the season 0–3, Schuylkill Haven won six of its final seven games. Recent victories over Shenandoah Valley and Tri-Valley give the Hurricanes the strongest collection of head-to-head results among the teams competing for the No. 3 position.

Next opponent: Catasauqua at Schuylkill Haven on Friday, November 6, at 7 p.m. in the District XI Class 2A playoffs.

4. Pottsville (7–3)

Pottsville’s 7–3 record and late-season momentum made the No. 3 decision close, but Schuylkill Haven’s victories over Tri-Valley and Shenandoah Valley keep the Hurricanes one position ahead.

Next opponent: Lehighton at Pottsville on Saturday, November 7, at 1 p.m. in the District XI Class 4A playoffs.

On the Bubble

Tri-Valley (6–4)

Last week: No. 5
Week 10: Lost to Williams Valley, 28–21
District XI ranking: No. 2 in Class 1A

Tri-Valley remained competitive throughout its seven-point loss to Williams Valley, so the Bulldogs did not fall because of a poor Week 10 performance.

Next opponent: Marian Catholic at Tri-Valley on Friday, November 6, at 7 p.m. in the District XI Class 1A playoffs.

Shenandoah Valley (7–3)

Last week: On the bubble
Week 10: Defeated Mahanoy Area, 21–12
District XI ranking: No. 2 in Class 2A

Shenandoah Valley completed a 7–3 regular season with a rivalry victory over Mahanoy Area.
