Schedule for the 2015 Schuylkill County Christmas Holiday Events


Santa Parade
The Santa Parade and lighting of the Community Christmas Tree will be held on Saturday, November 28th starting at 7:00 p.m. The parade will form at the top of town and proceed down Centre Street to Hoffman Boulevard where the lighting will occur and Santa will greet and distribute treats to all youngsters in front of the Mothers Memorial.

Old Fashioned Christmas - December 12th from 5:00PM-8:00PM
Organized by Ashland Downtown Inc.


Mahanoy City

Christmas Tree Lighting - November 28th



Santa Claus is Coming to Town - November 29th
  • Parade - 5:30PM
  • Greet Santa - 6:00PM-7:00PM
Santa Train Rides - December 6th, 20th @ 10:30am, 1:00PM, and 3:30PM
Purchase tickets in advance by calling (570) 544-8300 or (570) 544-2149.  Tickets are $13 for Adults, $9 for children (3-12) but one child rides free for each paying adult.  All children under 3 receive a free ticket.  All children regardless of age but have a ticket.



December 5th, 2015, starts at 4:30pm
Festival of Lights - Santa Arrival -

Come out and enjoy Mayor Muldowney's Christmas Tree Lighting, Santa Parade, and Children's Santa Claus Party:

Holiday Entertainment-4:30 PM at First United Methodist Church
Santa Parade-5:30 PM from Coney Island to Garfield Square
Tree Lighting-6:00 PM Garfield Square
Santa Party for Children 10 & Under-6:30 PM Humane Fire Co.

Also on the 28th-Santa Claus will be at Something Sweet Candies from 11 am-3 pm-free pictures with Santa-so don't forget to bring your camera!


Schuylkill Haven

November 29th
Christmas Tree Lighting - events begin at 5PM

December 5th
Children's Christmas Party - hosted by the Greater Schuylkill Haven Area Business Association and the Recreation Department at the Senior Citzen and Neighborhood Recreation Center.

December 12th
Ride the Train with Santa - Departure Times 10:30am, 1:00pm, and 3:30pm.
