Man Facing Assault Charges After Alleged Domestic Incident

On Wednesday, Shenandoah Police arrested Joseph Lewandowski, 55, for aggravated assault and related charges after he allegedly assaulted his wife and daughter in the 100 block of South Main St around 3:00 pm.

According to Police Lewandoski threw a hard-sided cooler at his wife and pushed her through a doorway causing her to strike her head on the sidewalk.

Their daughter tried to help stop the assault when it appeared that he was going to strike his wife again. Lewandoski then struck his daughter in the face and grabbed her by the neck and struck her head against a large window.

The assault stopped when several by-standers began to intervene.

Lewandoski was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and related charges and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer.

Lewandoski was released on unsecured bail.
