Pottsville Police Announce Street Closures for City Cycle 17

On Saturday July 30, 2016 the annual City Cycle 17 will take place in the City of Pottsville necessitating several temporary street closures.

Beginning at 8:00am that day, Laurel Boulevard will be closed from 12th Street to 16th Street until approximately 0930 hours for the children's events.

Immediately following the completion of these races, Laurel Boulevard will be re-opened for traffic westbound to the DHH Lengle Middle School lower entrance.

At approximately 9:00am the following roadways will be closed until the conclusion of the race:

York Farm Road between 16th Street and Maple Avenue; Eastwood Lane; Maple Avenue from York Farm Road to 4th Street; Edgewood Road; Woodglen Road between Edgewood Road and Westwood Road; First Avenue between 18th Street and Providence Place; 18th Street between First Avenue and Elk Avenue; Elk Avenue between 16th and 18th Street; 16th Street between Elk Avenue and Mt. Hope Avenue. All roadways will be reopened immediately following the conclusion of the race which is expected to be no later than 1130 hrs.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead and are thanked in advance for their patience & cooperation with this City sponsored event.

State Police Investigating Burglary

3 Involved in Fight

MCADOO - On June 18th, 2016 at approximately 11:35PM, McAdoo Police were dispatched to a fight involving 4 or 5 people in progress at the McAdoo Bazaar.

Upon arrival the fight was over and police conducted interviews of suspects, witnesses, as well as Pennsylvania State Constables that were on scene working a security detail for the McAdoo Bazaar.
Concluding an investigation and after obtaining video surveillance footage from the firehouse, police found that a physical altercation took place between three males. 

State Constables along with multiple members from Mcadoo Fire Company intervened, trying to break up the fight. One male came toward Constables in a fighting stance with a fist raised and physically tried to stop Constables from taking one of the males into custody. Another male struck a member of the Fire Company who was trying to break up the fight. The three males involved in the altercation were charged and will have to answer to the following criminal charges:

-Christopher Orfield (35) of McAdoo - Riot, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment, and Public Drunkenness
-Andrew Pollack (28) of McAdoo - Riot, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment
-Jesse Jadush (38) of McAdoo - Riot, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment (2 counts), and Public Drunkenness
