Schuylkill County Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash After Leading Police in Pursuit in Berks County

A Schuylkill County Man died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday evening after leading police in a pursuit in Berks County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, around 8:00pm, Tuesday, a State Trooper on patrol attempted to stop Kenneth Ferraiolo, 49, of Schuylkill Haven for traffic violations on Route 61 (Pottsville Pike), Berks County, when the operator fled.

The operator continued to flee and drive recklessly before crashing at 1930 Main Street, Centerport, Berks County.

Police say Ferraiolo was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop, creating a large skid mark.

Ferraiolo impacted the driver's side door of another vehicle driven by Jeffrey Searfoss, 47, of Mohrsville.

Ferraiolo was thrown from the motorcycle at the moment of impact.

Ferraiolo died on scene from his injuries,  and was reported to have been wearing a helmet.

Searfoss was not injured in the crash..
