Three Juveniles Charged for Rock Throwing Incidents on Interstate 78

Three Juveniles have been charged for rocking throwing incidents on Interstate 78 early Sunday.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, 3 incidents were reported where rocks were thrown from overpasses early Sunday morning.

Police say two incidents occurred around 2:30 am at the Power Drive Overpass.  During both incidents, multiple rocks being thrown, striking their vehicle in the front windshield. The impact punctured the front windshield. In addition, due to the quantity of rocks on the roadway, the Victim's vehicle sustained undercarriage damage.

A third incident was also reported at the Exit 23 overpass where an unknown object was thrown striking the windshield of a vehicle.

Police say damages were estimated around $2,000.00

No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, 09/19/17, 3 juveniles were charged through Berks County Juvenile Court. 

The juveniles were charged with Propulsion of Missiles (M1), Simple Assault (M2), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), and Criminal Mischief (M).
