Man Injured in Saturday Morning Rollover Crash on Route 61

A man was injured Saturday morning in a rollover crash on Route 61 south of Frackville.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 6:50am Saturday morning on Route 61 in Blythe Township.

Police say Joseph Scheponik, 53, of Kulpmont was travelling southbound when he failed to negotiate a left curve striking an embankment and rolling over.  His vehicle came to rest on it's roof.

Scheponik suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported by Shenandoah EMS to the hospital for evaluation.

Assisting police at the scene were Altamont, Englewood, and Goodwill Fire Departments.  Hoffman's Towing also assisted at the scene.
