One Flown with Serious Injuries After Interstate 81 Crash Sunday Afternoon

One person was seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 81 Sunday afternoon.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 2:50pm, Sunday afternoon near Milemarker 126 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Ryan Township.

Police say the crash occurred when a vehicle, driver's name not released by police yet,  was travelling north on the left shoulder and made and abrupt right turn.  The vehicle went through the guide rail on the right shoulder, rolled several times and landed on it's roof approximately 100 feet off the highway.  The driver was ejected during the collision.

The driver was transported to the hospital via life flight with serious injuries.
