Mahanoy City Buries Time Capsule

On Saturday, Mahanoy City buried a time capsule to be recovered in 2063.

The Mahanoy City Historical Society buried a time capsule that was dug up last year for the borough's sesquicentennial.  Saturday was the borough's community day.

The items from the time capsule were on display the week of the town's anniversary.  The contents were then held by the Historical Society and repackaged to sustain the long duration in the vault.  New items were also added to the capsule.

The historical society, borough manager Daniel Lynch, and borough worked on the project.
