Wind Chill Advisory Issued for Schuylkill County

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Schuylkill County

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 3 PM EST THURSDAY... 

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM WEDNESDAY TO 3 PM EST THURSDAY. * 

LOCATIONS...MUCH OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA. * 

HAZARD TYPES...DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILLS. * 

TIMING...THE COLDEST OF THE WIND CHILLS WILL BE LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. * 

IMPACTS...POSSIBLE FROSTBITE ON EXPOSED SKIN. * WINDS...WEST 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH. * 

WIND CHILL READINGS...AS LOW AS 15 BELOW ZERO. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS...DRESS IN LAYERS AND WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES. YOUNG CHILDREN...THE ELDERLY AND THE HOMELESS ARE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO THE COLD. APPROPRIATE ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ENSURE PETS HAVE ADEQUATE PROTECTION FROM THE COLD TEMPERATURES.
