Police Officers and Emergency Personnel Rescue Child Sinking into Mud

Around 3:45pm Thursday, emergency personnel were dispatched to The Pumping Station Dam on Pole Road in Brandonville, East Union Township for a 11 year old sinking in the mud of the dried up dam.


Chief Rentschler of East Union Township Police, Officer Pastucka from West Mahanoy Police and Shenandoah Ambulance Personell Dave Demshock and Cody Rosselli made there way to the middle of the mud stricken dam to the 11 year old who was chest deep in mud and actively sinking. 

The four formed a human chain and Rentschler was able to free the child and pull him to safety.

East Union Twp Police, West Mahanoy Twp Police, Shenandoah Ambulance, Sheppton- Oneida Fire Company and Mahanoy City West End Rescue all responded.
