Coach Rizzo Still Teaching the Game

A few weeks ago, Coach John Rizzo, coach of the North Schuylkill Lady Spartans, announced he was stepping down from coaching to spend more time to spend with his sons.

Even though he has stepped away from coaching, he has shifted his focus to Group and Individual Training Camps.

Not long before Rizzo announced his resignation, he held his 2nd Annual Anthracite Skills and Drills Clinic at North Schuylkill, which brought in coaches from surrounding area High Schools and Colleges.  The clinic also included Speed and Agility Training from The Jungle.

Two clinics were held over 2 weekends and allowed Rizzo and coaches to show the players an off season workout that focused on Individual Offensive Moves and Shooting, as well as Ball Handling.

The clinics were attended by almost 200 kids ranging from Kindergarten age to Eighth Grade with at least one student attending from each district in Schuylkill County.

Since Rizzo's clinics were such a success, he has now announced more locations for players to attend his training camps in conjunction with "The Jungle" in Schuylkill Haven.

Clinics have been scheduled through the month of May and will take place at locations in Schuylkill Haven, Cressona, Frackville, and Ashland,  with more events planned for the future.
