One Homeless After Ashland Fire on Friday

Around noon Friday, fire crews and emergency personnel were called to the 900 block of Walnut Street, Ashland, for a working structure fire.


The fire was quickly upgraded to a 3-alarm calling in multiple units from around Schuylkill County.

It took firefighters roughly an hour to get the fire under control.

At least  4 homes were damaged in the fire but only 1 was occupied leaving one homeless.

The Red Cross was on hand but the one homeless will be staying with friends.

No injuries were reported and the cause is still under investigation.
