Schuylkill County Fair to Feature "Baking with Brew" Contest

“We have good things growing” and one of the many good things growing in here is Schuylkill County is Yuengling beer. G. D. Yuengling & Son and the Schuylkill County has partnered together to bring a new contest to the 2016 Schuylkill County Fair. 

The new cooking contest is Baking with Brew. As the name of the contest conveys it is a baked product using Yuengling beer in the recipe. This contest will go off on Tuesday, August 2 at 6PM in the PA Preferred Culinary Connection area of the fairgrounds. Better known as inside the fruit and vegetable building.

This contest is open any and all interested parties, but is limited to one entry per person. Entry must be a baked good that will serve a minimum of six people. The baked good must contain a minimum of 4 oz. of any Yuengling Beer in the recipe. Recipe must accompany the baked good and a label from any Yuengling Beer. The baked good is to be brought and kept warm or cold for serving. Exhibitor must bring their own serving utensils. Exhibitor must bring the baked good in an appliance that will keep the baked good warm or cold and are asked to arrive early to prepare their area by 5:30. Exhibitors must be 21 years or older to compete. Entries will be judged on appearance, originality and flavor. After judging is completed exhibitors are encouraged to share their baking with brew good with fair goers. 

Please pre-registration using the General Entry Form at www.schuylkillfair.com/exhibits/ is a must to secure your participation. Prizes for first, second and third will be awarded by D. G. Yuengling and Son.
