Heroin and Stolen Firearm Found During Traffic Stop


Police found heroin and a stolen firearm during a traffic stop Wednesday evening.

According to Saint Clair Police, on 01/10/2018 around 8:15pm, a vehicle stop was conducted by officers along Rt. 61.

The driver of the vehicle, Gina Lombardo, 39, of Girardville, was found to have been driving the vehicle with a suspended license.

During the stop, a passenger, Charles Raymond Frantz, 25, also of Girardville, was found to be in possession a substance later identified as heroin.

Also located inside the vehicle were several handguns. One of the firearms, a 380 caliber handgun, was identified as being reported stolen from Butler Twp., Schuylkill County.

Ammunition and drug paraphernalia were also recovered inside the vehicle.

Frantz admitted in a statement that the drugs and firearms were his.

A records check indicated Frantz had an outstanding warrant from Berks County as well as
a felon restricted from carrying firearms.

Following the stop the vehicle was towed and impounded.

Frantz was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville on charges of Felon Not to Possess Firearms, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia..

Frantz was unable to post the $25,000 cash bail set and committed to Schuylkill County Prison.

Saint Clair Police were assisted during the incident by the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, The Pennsylvania State Police and Port Carbon Police.
