Over $68,000 Worth of Methamphetamine Seized in Traffic Stop

Over $68,000 worth of methamphetamine was seized during a traffic stop on Thursday.


On Thursday, April 12, 2018, members of the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, Drug Task Force, and Pennsylvania State Police, acting upon information received, executed a traffic stop on a 1993 Toyota Corolla travelling within the Borough of St. Clair.

After making the stop, police found probable cause to search vehicle where multiple ttems of contraband were seized from the vehicle including one and a half pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $68,100.00, among other items.

As a result of the seizure, Efrain Alfredo Rivera-Santiago, 19 of Reading and Michael Antonio Ramirez, 19, also of Reading were charged with Possession With the Intent to Deliver (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance(Methamphetamine), and Criminal Conspiracy Possession With the Intent to Deliver, and Criminal Conspiracy Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Both were arraigned by the on-call, Honorable Magisterial District Judge Christina M. Hale, Frackville and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison with Bail was set for both at $75,000.00.
