Tamaqua Police Arrest Two During Drug Raid Monday

Tamaqua Police executed a search warrant and arrested two Monday afternoon.

According to police, the Tamaqua Police Department along with the Schuylkill Township Police executed a search warrant on 31 North Railroad Street.

As a result, Tihanne Rasheed Wright, 37, who resided in the home, was taken into custody on 2 warrants relating to the sale of controlled substances.

Police say they officers had made 3 controlled buys of controlled substances dating back to December 2017 through 2018.

Wright was charged with 3 felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, 3 felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, 3 felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility, and 3 misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

A female, who was inside the residence at the time, Melissa Filer, 48, was taken into custody on unrelated warrants.

Police were able to seize controlled substances, currency, and drug paraphernalia during the incident.
