Man Facing DUI and Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

A Pine Grove man is facing DUI and drug charges after a traffic stop last week.

According to Orwigsburg Police, on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at approximately 11:45 p.m. the Orwigsburg Police Department stopped a vehicle for a series of traffic violations which occurred in the 900 block of W. Market Street in the borough.

During the course of the investigation, the operator of the vehicle, Jameson Lapp of Pine Grove, was found to be under the influence of drugs to the degree which he was incapable of safely operating the vehicle.

In addition, Lapp was found to be in possession of a large amount of illicit drugs, packaging material, and other drug paraphernalia.

Lapp was transported to the Lehigh Valley Health Network-Schuylkill South campus where he consented to a chemical test of blood before being video arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Rossi on charges relating to possession of with intent to deliver drugs, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence of drugs.

Lapp was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $10,000 straight cash bail.

A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 15th at 10:00 a.m.
