Just before 7:00pm, Sunday, fire crews were called to 116 Island Road, Gilberton, in Mahanoy Plane for a working structure.
Multiple Schuylkill County fire crews were called including a tanker task force.
The fire quickly engulfed the unoccupied home destroying an attached garage as well.
It took crews over an hour before bringing it under control.
One fireman was injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Frackville Police and a State Police Fire Marshal are investigating a cause of the fire.
