Photos from the 2018 Ringtown Recreational 5K Run


On Saturday morning, over 100 competitors took part in the Annual Ringtown Recreational 5K Run.

The event started with a Fun Run for the kids at 8:45am.

The race began at the borough's park and kids raced up Zion Grove Road up to Aristes Road and back.

The Kid's Fun Run Race was won by Caleb Woods.

At 9:00am, adults competed in the 5K Race that started on Breisch Road near the park.  The course then went up Zion Grove Road to Aristes Road to Little Mountain Road, to Bridge Street, down Main Street and back to Zion Grove Road to the park.

The overall winner, Luis Velazquez, finished the course with a time of 17:39.  The first place female competitor, Tulaza Vaidya, completed the course with a time of 21:41.  Both winners went home with Oakley Sunglasses courtesy of EyeCare Optical, Shenandoah.

The final competitor finished the race in just over 50 minutes.

Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue along with Ringtown and Union Township Police assisted with the event.
