Man Facing Charges After Smashing Neighbors Windows


An Ashland man is facing charges after smashing his neighbor's car and home windows.


According to Ashland Police, on Sunday, around 4:50pm, police were called to the 1500 block Centre Street, in the borough for a disturbance.

At the scene, Officer Daniel Weikel immediately took David Cooper, 55, of Ashland, into custody.

Cooper was found shirtless and bleeding sitting on his porch at 1527 Centre Street.

Police say Cooper had a minor altercation with his neighbor earlier in the day.  Cooper was intoxicated, took a hammer and smashed out the windows of his neighbor's house and car.

The neighbor's young children were also reportedly right below the window when Cooper smashed it out.

Cooper was charged by Officer Weikel with felony criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

Cooper was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Plachko and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu 10% of $25,000 bial.
