Frackville Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of Minor

A music teacher from Schuylkill County has been charged for indecent assault of a 13 year old.

According to Tamaqua Police, they were notified by a family over the weekend that Dale Schimpf, 71, of Frackville had sex with their 13 year old son on Friday, February 22, 2019 .

On Monday, Tamaqua Police arrested Schimpf at Nativity BVM in Pottsville where he is a music teacher.

According to the affidavit filed, Schimpf was in contact with the boy through the mobile dating app called Grindr.

Police say that there was an exchange of messages and photos until Schimpf asked to meet the victim on Friday.

Schimpf picked the boy up in his vehicle, took him to dinner and then to his home in Frackville where they engaged in "sex acts".

After being arrested Monday, Schimpf admitted to having sex with the 13 year old, but said he thought he was a "30-year-old man".

Tamaqua Police charged Schimpf with Statutory Sexual Assault, Indecent Deviate Sexual Intercourse Forcible Compulsion, Indecent Deviate Sexual Intercourse of a person less than 16 years old, Corruption of Minors, and indecent exposure.

Schimpf was arrainged before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bail.
