Pottsville Man Facing Animal Neglect Charges After Leaving Dog in Vehicle with Heater

A Pottsville man is facing animal neglect charges after leaving a dog inside a vehicle with a portable heater.


According to Saint Clair Police Chief William Dempsey, on February 12, 2019 around 11:30pm, , police were notified of this incident on Ann Street.

Police say Joseph F. Krasnitsky, 52, of Pottsville left a dog inside his vehicle while it was parked on Ann Street with a portable heater creating dangerous conditions.

The dog was reported to have been left without water and when the dog was found, it was suffering from respiratory complications as a result of the conditions.

Officers took the dog to a local animal shelter.

Krasnitsky will face summary charges of neglect of an animal.
