Two Injured, One Flown After Crash in Ashland Wednesday Morning

Two teens were injured Wednesday morning involving a crash between a vehicle and tractor trailer.


Just after 7:15am, emergency personnel were dispatched to 1500 Centre Street, Ashland for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.

According to Ashland Police, two teens were travelling downhill on Centre Street in the borough and attempted to make left turn onto 15th Street and crossed into the path of a Tri-State Tractor trailer travelling heading uphill.

The tractor trailer struck the passenger side of the vehicle.

The two teens in the vehicle were extricated from the vehicle by Ashland Fire Personnel.  One of the victims was transported to Memorial Field for a waiting helicopter.

The other victim was transported to an area hospital via ambulance.  The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

American Hose, Washington Fire, Washington Rescue, 2 Washington Ambulances, and 2 Shenandoah Ambulances responded to the scene of the crash along with Ashland Police who were assisted by Butler Township Police and Pennsylvania State Police.

Lavelle Fire responded to Memorial Field for the landing zone.

Centre Street was closed for about an hour while the scene was cleared.
