A quick response by emergency personnel saved three homes from major damage by fire late Monday.

Around 6:30pm, Monday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 130 Penn Street for a house fire.  The first on scene reported back to Schuylkill County Communications that a working fire was found in the rear of the home.

Due to the quick response and action by those on-scene, the fire was quickly under control.  The fire was held at the 20 minute par check.

The home at 130 suffered the most damage with 128 and 126 sustaining smoke damage.
