Fire Destroys Ringtown Mill Early Wednesday

The Ringtown Mill was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning.

Just after 1:00am, fire crews were called to the Ringtown Mill & Hardware, located at 655 West Main Street, Ringtown for a working commercial fire.

When crews arrived they found heavy fire coming from the silo/feed storage area of the business.

The fire was quickly upgraded to a 2nd alarm along with a 3rd Alarm Tanker task force calling in units from around Schuylkill County including units from Northumberland, Columbia, and Luzerne Counties.

The building was a total loss.

As of 5:00am, what was left of the structure was still smoldering and crews were still at the scene.

According to Ringtown Fire Chief Joseph Gilbert, a State Police Fire Marshall will be called in to investigate.
