Frackville Police Investigating Assault that Left Man in Critical Condition

Frackville Police are actively investigating an incident that occurred over the weekend and left a man in critical condition.


According to Frackville Police Chief Rick Bell, an assault was reported outside the Compass Rose,  near the intersection of Oak St. and Lehigh Ave, early Sunday morning.  Police arrived and had a victim that was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville. A few hours later the victim was flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest with a head injury and was listed in critical condition.

Bell says that there was an initial indication is that there was some sort of a verbal altercation in the bar earlier in the night between a group of individuals and the assault happened after closing time outside the bar.

No arrests have been made as of Tuesday afternoon.
