Man Dies After Being Tasered By State Police

A man has died after being tasered and struggling with State Police on Saturday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Saturday, around 3:30pm, troopers responded to North Greenview Road, in North Manheim Township, near Orwigsburg for a man acting erratically.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Adam Gamrak, 38,  inside a garage.

Troopers called out to Gamrak, who then came out of the garage naked and only wearing one sock.  Gamrak then charged at police.

Gamrak continued to charged at and fight with Troopers until they used a taser in an attempt to detain him.

A struggle ensued until Gamrak was handcuffed. It was at this point Gamrak became unresponsive and lost consciousness.

Gamrak was then transported to Geisinger-St. Luke's Hospital in Orwigsburg where he later died.

Police say Gamrak was believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance and a cause of death will be determined after a toxicology and autopsy.

The incident is still under investigation.
