Pottsville Man Facing Drug Charges After Dropping Methamphetamine at Plant in Luzerne County

A Pottsville man is facing drug charges after dropping methamphetamine at a plant in Luzerne County.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton, on Monday, February 10th, 2020, around 9:30am, an incident occurred outside the Hershey Foods, located at 6 Scot Pine Drive, in Humbolt Industrial Park.

Police say a witness asked Scott Moyer, 48, for a lighter while at a designated smoking area.  When Moyer reached into his coat/shirt pocket to remove a lighter, a small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance fell to the ground.

Moyer was asked by a safety manager about the incident and admitted that the small bag contained methamphetamine.

State Police NIK tested the substance which test positive for methamphetamine.

Drug charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge James Dixon's office.
