Tractor Trailer Driver Uninjured After Overturning Early Thursday

The driver of a tractor trailer hauling eggs was uninjured after a crash early Thursday in Pine Grove Township.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the crash occurred around 6:20am, Thursday, on Geary Wolfe Road just south of Swopes Valley Road in Pine Grove Township.

Police say a semi-trailer hauling eggs was traveling southbound when a suspected engine failure causing the driver, Shannon Lowery, 37 of Chadbourn, NC to lose control.  The semi struck a street sign and a utility police before overturning and coming to a rest on the shoulder of the roadway.  State Route 645 was closed down for several hours due to the spilled cargo.

Lowery was not injured in the crash and he will be cited for the crash.
