Below is a collection of reports from recent crashes in Schuylkill County.






Driver Hits Parked Vehicles on Big Mine Run Road

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020 around 3:35pm, troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Big Mine Run Road in Butler Township.

Police say, Thomas Kulick, 47, of Mount Carmel was traveling north on Big Mine Run Road when he left the roadway striking a parked Ford Focus.  The force of the impact caused the Focus to slide forward striking a Chevrolet Sonic.

No injuries were reported in the crash and Kulick's Ford Escape was towed from the scene.

Kulick will be cited for the crash.

Driver Suffers Minor Injuries in Burma Road Crash

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Friday, May 15th, 2020, around 10:35pm.

Police say Logan Siliekus, 19, of Kingston, was traveling north on the Burma Road in Blythe Township.  He was reportedly traveling too fast for road conditions and failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway.

Siliekus traveled off the right shoulder and crashed into a tree disabling his Oldsmobile Alero.

Siliekus was reported to have suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital by a parent.

He will be cited for the crash.

Two-Vehicle Crash on the Vulcan Hill in Mahanoy Township

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Monday, May 18th, 2020 around 3:05pm.

Police say Mark Mays, 52, of Barnesville was pulled over on the westbound shoulder of Route 54 on the Vulcan Hill checking for a problem with his car.   Mays attempted to pull out onto Route 54 and intended to make a left turn onto East End Road.

At this time, Christopher Brennan, 42, of Mahanoy City was traveling on Route 54 when he encountered Mays across both lanes and struck his vehicle.

Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on the Burma Road near Saint Clair

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Saturday, May 16th, 2020 around 10:20am.

Police say, Scott Houser, 28, of Frackville, was traveling on the Burma Road in Blythe Township near Saint Clair on his Suzuki GSX R600 when he lost control on a left curve and drove off the roadway.

Houser was suspected of suffering minor injuries in the crash and was taken to an area hospital by Schuylkill EMS.

The motorcycle was removed from the scene by Hoffman's Towing.
