Utility Truck with Raised Boom Pulls Down Wires and Multiple Poles

A utility truck with a raised boom pulled down wires and multiple poles closing a road Monday afternoon in Wayne Township.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Monday, May 4th, 2020 around 1:40pm, Dennis Boyer, 60, of Pine Grove was travelling on Route 443 in Wayne Township just east of Moyers Station Road.

Boyer was driving an International 7600 with the boom raised approximately 14 feet.  The boom caught the overhead wires, damaging and pulling down wires, and breaking three utility poles.

No injuries were reported and Route 443 was closed in the area while the scene was cleared.
