Pine Grove Man in Custody After Traffic Stop Leads to Foot Chase

According to Pine Grove Police, Jeffrey Tucker, 32, of Pine Grove is facing charges stemming from a traffic stop on Tuesday.

Police say officers were on patrol monitoring traffic when they observed a silver Honda sedan with expired registration.

The officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of Guilford Mills.

Officers identified Tucker as the male driver. During the course of the stop officers learned that Tucker provided a false name.

As the incident was ongoing Tucker attempted to flee on foot leading to a physical confrontation with an officer.

During the physical altercation Tucker struck the officer in the face with a closed fist.

The struggle continued and Tucker eventually lead officers on another foot chase that progressed toward North Tulpehocken Street. Officers were able to use a stun gun to subdue Tucker and was taken into custody without further incident.

Once Tucker was in custody officers learned that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Lebanon County.

Tucker was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison on the Lebanon County warrant and was later arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Rossi on charges stemming from the traffic stop and foot chase.

Bail in this case was set at $40,000 straight cash in which Tucker was unable to post at the time of arraignment.

At this time Tucker remained in the Schuylkill County Prison. Tucker will now have to answer to the charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, harassment, disorderly conduct, registration and certificate of title required, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, before Judge Rossi.
