Shenandoah Police Take Man into Custody for Armed Robbery

The Shenandoah Police have taken a man into custody who was wanted for an armed robbery.

According to Shenandoah Police Chief George Carado, on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020, around 12:30am, Shenandoah Police responded to an armed robbery that occurred outside Mulligan's Bar in the 300 Block of South Main Street.

Police say a woman told police that as she left the bar, Takiem Foat, 28, of Mahanoy City, took her purse while pointing a gun at her head. Foat then fled the scene.

Around 2:15am, Wednesday, Shenandoah officers took Foat into custody when he was found walking along Route 54 in Mahanoy Township after he was spotted by an off-duty police officer.  A firearm was not recovered after a search of Foat.

Foat was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post $100,000.00 cash bail, on charges of Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
