Two people died in an early morning crash on Route 209 in Reilly Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the crash occurred around 3:30am, Saturday, when Michael Truscott, 21, of Pottsville was traveling north on Route 209 at a high rate of speed in a Subaru Impreza.
Police say Truscott lost control of the vehicle, struck the berm on the right side of the roadway causing the vehicle to roll over and strike several trees.
The passenger in the vehicle, Dayla Austerberry, 18, of Pottsville was ejected from the vehicle.
Both Truscott and Austerberry died from their injuries.
Assisting police at the scene was the Minersville Fire and Rescue, Newtown Fire Department, Branchdale Fire Department, Tremont EMS and Hammer's Towing.
