Pedestrian Struck By Train in Ryan Township; Coroner Called

A Coroner was called to the scene of an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a train in Ryan Township Thursday morning.

Around 7:45am, Thursday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of the Dollar General in Ryan Township for a pedestrian struck.

As emergency personnel arrived, the location was changed to the area of Tuscarora Mountain Drive and State Road on the railroad tracks where a pedestrian was struck by a train. 

Fire personnel were called initially but were cancelled prior to their arrival.

A Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner was called to scene for the victim who has not been identified.

State Police and Police from the Reading and Northern Railroad were at the scene investigating the incident.
