"Project Cheer" to Help Bring Joy this Holiday Season

For the third year in a row, a group of volunteers are working on helping bring some Christmas cheer to some lucky families for the holidays.

For the past 2 years, Frackville Police Officer Anthony Kankowski, along with his wife Heather, the Frackville Police Department, the borough of Frackville, and local businesses came together to bring Christmas Cheer to a family that had suffered a loss recently.  The volunteers were able to have Santa bring the family toys and gift certificates as well as a home-cooked Christmas dinner.

Volunteers have again begun gathering donations and are looking for help in support more families this year.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit the families the night before Christmas and will deliver gifts and a dinner to the family or families.

Any local businesses or individuals that are looking to donate to the project can call (570) 874-0238 or email goprojectcheer@gmail.com.

Toy donations should be unwrapped and for children between the ages of 6 months and 10 years old.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Frackville borough or the Police Station.
