Shenandoah Woman Charged After Stabbing Boyfriend on Saturday Afternoon

A Shenandoah woman is facing charges after she stabbed her boyfriend on Saturday.

According to Shenandoah Police, on Saturday, November 28th, 2020, around 4:15pm, officers were called to the 100 Block of North Bower Street for a possible stabbing.

After officers arrived and investigated, they learned that Anecia Garrett, 59, of Shenandoah, and her 64 year old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation when she stabbed him in the left side of the chest just below his collar bone.

Garrett was taken into custody by Shenandoah Police and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, simple assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Garrett was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled with Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker on December 10th, 2020.
