Frackville Man Locked Up After Assaulting Pregnant Girlfriend

A Frackville man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend on Saturday morning.

According to Frackville Police Officer Anthony Kankowski, on Saturday, December 12th, 2020, around 11:15am, police were dispatched to the 400 Block of West Pine Street for a report of an assault.

An investigation revealed that Joseph Rush, 24, of Frackville, assaulted his pregnant girlfriend.  The victim was described as having visible marks on her from the assault.

Rush and the victim reportedly got into a verbal argument that turned violent when he began punching her in the arm/shoulder area and in the head.

Rush was taken into custody without incident by police.

The victim was treated at the scene by Mahanoy City EMS.

Rush was charged by Officer Kankowski with simple assault and harassment and was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Thomas X. Xavios and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $7,500 straight cash bail.
