No Injuries Reported in Truck and Tractor Trailer Collision on Interstate 81 Sunday Morning

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash involving two trucks early Sunday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near mile marker 131.1 near the Mahanoy City Exit.

Police say the crash occurred as Pierre Brown was traveling north on Interstate 81 in a Kenworth Truck while being followed behind by Richard Hamilton in an International Tractor Trailer.

The collision occurred when the front of Hamilton's truck struck the rear of Brown's truck.

After the collision, Brown's truck traveled off the roadway and down an embankment.

Mahanoy City's West End Fire Company Engine and Rescue responded to the scene to assist.  They also provided traffic control in blocking the northbound off ramp.

No injuries reported from either driver.

Hamilton will be cited for the collision.
