Born on August 26, 1932 in Mar Lin, Norwegian Township, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Moran Minder. He was a graduate of Cass Township High School. He had been employed as a machinist, first, with the former Cadillac Cable, and later, with Thermo-Dynamics Boiler Company, Schuylkill Haven.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville.
Ray was preceded in death by a grandson, John Minder, Jr., in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Rose Marie Pizzico; three children, John Minder, Sr. (spouse, Laureen), New Street, Norwegian Township, Marilyn Minder (companion, John Ruppert), Bethlehem, and Raymond J. Minder (spouse, Elena), Black Heath, Cass Township; three grandchildren, Patrice and Desiree Minder and Joshua Minder, USAF. He is also survived by two siblings, Joseph Minder (spouse, Dale), Lebanon, and Alexsandria Generella, Bel Air, Maryland; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, on a date and time to be announced.
