Two Lead Police In Pursuit Across Schuylkill County on Friday Afternoon

Two men led police in a pursuit across Schuylkill County on Friday afternoon.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident began around 3:45pm, Friday, when troopers attempted a traffic stop on a blue Chrysler 200 along Route 901 in Barry Township just south of Lavelle.

The driver failed to yield to police and a pursuit ensued.

The pursuit continued south on Route 901 through Minersville to the intersection of Route 901 at Kings Village when the vehicle sideswiped another vehicle and continued south on Route 901.

As the pursuit entered Cressona, a handgun and suspected drugs were tossed out of the passenger side window.

The pursuit continued to Route 183 then to Route 61, when in the area of Route 61 and Brick Hill Road, the vehicle sideswiped another occupied vehicle and continued down Route 61 south.

Evetually, Troopers were able to successfully use spike strips to slow the vehicle and use a precision immobilization technique to stop the vehicle and take two suspects into custody.

A search of the area of where the handgun and drugs were tossed led to the finding of a loaded handgun as well as two large baggies containing approximately 580 grams of suspected fentanyl.  The fentanyl had an approximate street value of $58,000.

As a result of the incident, Shakier Kingsley, 29, of Allentown was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, person not possess a firearm, firearms not to be carried without a license, fleeing and eluding police, recklessly endangering another person, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, possession of marijuana, and summary traffic offenses  Kingsley was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison with bail set at $75,000 straight cash set by Magisterial District Judge David A. Rossi.  A State Parole Detainer was also issued.

Carlos Reynoso, 29, of Allentown was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, person not to possess a firearm, firearms not to be carried without a license, conspiracy and possession of marijuana.  Reynoso was arraigned and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 straight cash bail set by Magisterial District Judge David A. Rossi. 

UPDATE:  Reynosa was released on bail on Saturday.

No injuries were reported for any of the accidents caused during the pursuit.

Troopers from the State Police at Frackville, State Police at Schuylkill Haven, State Police at Hamburg, and officers from multiple local departments assisted in the pursuit.
