Woman Drives 14 Miles in the Wrong Direction on Interstate 78

A woman is facing multiple charges after driving the wrong way on Interstate 78 late last month.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, on Sunday, November 29th, 2020, around 3:20am, troopers were dispatched to Interstate 78 eastbound for reports of a wrong way driver.

Responding troopers were able to locate the vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes and safely bring the vehicle to a stop.

Troopers learned after an investigation that Sierra Dreibelbis, 24, of Fredericksburg drove her Jeep Cherokee 14 miles in the wrong direction on the Interstate from mile marker 10.4 to 24.5.  Dreibelbis was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the incident, State Police filed charges against Dreibelbis that included DUI as well as recklessly endangering another person.
