One in Custody After Police Pursuit Ends near Girardville

A man is in custody after leading police in a pursuit through least 2 counties Tuesday afternoon.

According to Mount Carmel Township Police, the incident started in their township midday Tuesday and ended in the Connerton section of Butler Township on the east side of Girardville.

Mount Carmel Police have not released all the details of the incident or the identity of the arrestee, but at the scene, one person was taken into custody after  after crashing a Jeep into the snow and fleeing on foot around 12:45pm, Tuesday.

An Ashland Police cruiser was also damaged during the pursuit.

Multiple police units converged on the scene in Connerton including State Police, Ringtown Police, Shenandoah Police, Frackville Police, West Mahanoy Township Police, as well as Washington Ambulance from Ashland and Shenandoah Ambulance.
